Why Do You Sell?

Why Do You Sell?

A sales trainer forum posted this question asking for answers. Amazingly enough there were very few responses compared to other questions that have been asked.

I love this question! Sales drive the bus of any economy. If the economy is to go in a positive direction it is the responsibility of the sales staff of every company to produce more. Everything that ever happens is the direct result of a sale taking place. Communities are being forced to cut their budget because their revenues are low. Revenues are low because sales are down. Turn around the sales and the economy turns around. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this tremendous opportunity.

I could go on and on…and usually do. I begin training sessions with a speech similar to the statement above. I love being in sales and as a trainer I get to “share the love.”

I love to sell! I do it. I coach it. I practice it. I listen to it being done. I watch it every where I go. I read about it. I attend training on how it is done. I teach it. I train it. I write about it almost every day. It is my passion!

I had a Real Estate person show up to sell me a house once. Her license plate on her car said “LV2SELL”. I asked her if that stood for “Live to Sell” or “Love to Sell”. She said it didn’t make a difference. I didn’t buy from her! It does make a difference.

Living to sell means that is how I make a living. Loving to sell means this is my passion. I’ll take passion over pay any day. Whatever you do, ask yourself the same question “why do you _______?” Because you must pursue your passions. Passions leads to satisfaction. Passions leads to fulfillment. Passions lead to your success.

To Your Success,
Eric Mulford
